GRIEVING FAMILY OF MOKGOLO PLEAD WITH  POLOKWANE PUBLIC TO FIND THE CAR WHICH RAN OVER THEIR LOVED ONE AND KILLED HIM ON CHEBENG ROAD NEAR BAR ON SUNDAY Mokgolo family says that their loved one, Kgothatso Andries Mokgolo is going to be laid to rest this Saturday, 21 September 2024 not knowing the car and the culprit who ran over him on Sunday, 15 September 2024 at about 15:40.  According to Mokgolo family, the alleged car fled the scene and left its broken parts. The alleged car's description was not well captured but it is a sort of white fortuner car. They say that the deceased, Andries Mokgolo was with his friend who failed to identify the car's model. A teenager from Eastern Cape was arrested for strangling a 91-year-old woman to death in a shocking incident that shook the neighborhood. This woman has handed herself to the police after the body of her newborn baby was found inside a freezer.  It's alleged that the woman placed her baby in the free.zer after giving birth and went to have fun at a local tavern. "Upon arrival at the scene, members discovered the body of a newborn baby inside a chest free-zer wrapped in a tracksuit top pIaced inside a plastic carry bag. The body of the baby was already in a fr0zen state"  The woman trended on social media this week, with many alleging she was spotted at a tavern in the area a few days after giving birth.She was arrested and will appear in the Odendaalsrus Magistrates Court. A 51-year-old man from Lydenburg, Josaya Ndlozi, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, Sophie Phumzile Malele. The couple, who shared three children together, had a tumultuous relationship that ended in tragedy. According to reports, Ndlozi and Malele were living together in Lydenburg when their relationship turned violent. Malele, fearing for her safety, applied for an interim protection order against Ndlozi. However, before the order could be enforced, Ndlozi fatally stabbed Malele, accusing her of infidelity. The court found Ndlozi guilty of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The judge emphasized that the brutal nature of the crime and the defendant's lack of remorse warranted the maximum sentence.  

12 August 2024  The driver and passenger of the bakkie and one learner who was an occupant in the mini bus lost their lives. 27 people sustained injuries varying from slight to serious, and they were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.   The injured include the driver of bus and 26 learners. Although cause of the crash is yet to be established through investigations, it is suspected that unsafe overtaking might have been the cause.  Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Jackie Macie sends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes those in hospitals a speedy recovery. 

Four people have been killed when the taxi they were traveling in collided with a bust on the N1 near Baobab tollgate outside Musina in Limpopo.  Three other passengers have been injured. Preliminary investigations indicate that the taxi was trying to avoid another vehicle when it swerved towards on-coming traffic, and collided with the bus.

A joint operation by the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation and other law enforcement agencies has uncovered an alleged firearm training facility in Modimolle, Limpopo. On August 8, 2024, the team seized several firearms and ammunition at a farm in Modimolle, following a tip-off about suspicious activity. A body of unknown man was found in pinarr yesterday in the evening by people who were hunting for animals. Man Killed in Car and Truck Accident on R40 at Acornhoek One person was killed and another seriously injured in a collision involving a side tipper truck and a VW Polo on the R40 in Acornhoek on Sunday afternoon. According to eyewitness reports, the two vehicles collided head-on, leading to both drivers losing control. Emergency services were quickly on the scene, but despite their efforts, the Polo driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

By Lerato Molea  POLOKWANE : Stanley Leshabane and his three co-accused have been found guilty of two counts of murder at the Polokwane high court on Friday.  The 60 - year old hired four men to shoot and kill Makoena Mabusela-Leshabane and her business partner, Tebogo Mphuti in Polokwane in 2020. Judge Gerrit Muller found that the four hit men followed Mabusela-Leshabane and Mphuti from Gauteng to Polokwane where they were killed.  Bheki Phiyose, Thembelani Dlamini, Ndondo Buthelezi and Richard John Zulu were linked to the murders through witnesses and evidence from cellphone and vehicle tracking companies.  Zulu has since passed away while in custody.  The Leshabane's were estranged at the time of the murders.   Leshabane and his three co-accused will be sentenced on August 16.  Source: Polokwane weekly

A man targeting homes in Verulam - Kwazulu Natal has been identified as 29 year old Owen Naidoo (pictured).  The suspect was apprehended yesterday by a resident in Sanaa Township. He was released shortly after when the complainant did not desire a crminal case.  Naidoo has been arrested on several occasions by Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for Copper Theft & Infrastructure Damage and was released when homeowners declined to register cases.
